My Treatment Perspective for Trauma, Recovery, and Healing

I am a Certified Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist, and find that EMDR therapy can quickly offer relief and resources for those struggling. As each client is unique in what he or she may need, I don’t exclusively use EMDR therapy but various other specializations in order to help you feel better, fast.

For example, if you are needing support for addressing sex/love/relationship addictions, I provide Task Based Recovery Therapy as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). Our joint work through those recovery task help you establish sobriety, relapse prevention, and tools to heal your relationship.

Also, if you are seeking therapy for betrayal trauma recovery, we will use the Multi-dimensional Partner Recovery approach from my training as a Clinical Partner Specialist. but also include Cognitive Behavior Therapy with elements of Internal Family Systems Therapy as well as Task Based Recovery Therapy.

Sessions can be in person or online via video therapy sessions.

Attunement and Customization

Attunement, creativity to customize your therapy to your unique needs and complex situation, brief solution focused treatment, trauma and process addictions work are my strengths. I love learning from and with my clients.

Having lived and worked in Germany prior to moving to the United States, I enjoy drawing from diverse experiences (e.g., ages, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, spirituality, and socioeconomic status). Consider me as your resource or sherpa, providing you with gentle tools and compassionate feedback as you desire.

The focus of my counseling skills are both long term and brief solution focused. Symptoms of anger, depression, rumination, sleep disorder, nightmares, anxiety and panic are often the tip of the iceberg indicating underlying issues. With trauma or process addictions, the focus is on resolution. Know that you are not alone in your recovery.

I specialize in teaching self-regulation and trauma recovery. I work with people who have experienced the full spectrum of trauma, including complex post-traumatic stress, betrayal trauma, emotional abuse, emotional neglect, abandonment, sexual abuse, physical abuse, witness/victim of violence, survivor of war and crisis, victim of bullying during childhood and adulthood, trauma related to medical treatment, work related transitions, and family environmental stress to due to a family member with addiction. Compulsive behaviors may be running your life.
