Sexual Health (formally called “Dysfunction”) Treatment (Couples):
You don’t need to live with the limitations to your intimacy imposed by sexual dysfunctions in you or your partner. Receive a detailed, thorough assessment to set your treatment goals. Engage in Dr. Clifford & Joyce Penners’ Sexual Retraining Process to re-configure your sexual behaviors and communication style. This approach provides the structure for couples to engage in pain-free, demand-free, mutually satisfying intimacy experiences. Experiences are customized to meet individual and couple specific needs (e.g., medical conditions, trauma recovery, adjustment to physical maturation/aging).
Sexual Health Treatment (Individuals):
Join our monthly, confidential vaginismus group for women to master the challenges of your healing journey. Sign up for our partner/couple workshops (available upon request) where we partner with Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy Specialists to provide education and you will take the first steps to accomplish your healing journey.
Porn, Sex, and Love Addiction Track:
Sexual addiction is a complex addiction but there is hope! As a trained Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT®), I have completed training developed by Dr. Patrick Carnes which requires attendance at multiple training modules and supervision with a CSAT Supervisor. It also requires ongoing education so that CSATs are experts in providing sexual addiction therapy. It is a rigorous process designed to help me best help you. For the one with the problem behavior(s):
Individual therapy and confidential workshops will help you master core recovery tasks for achieving your treatment goals. This approach provides the structure to sobriety and a life free of shame and compulsion. Dr. Patrick Carnes’ validated Task Model to treat addictions serves as the treatment route to stop problematic and/or compulsive behaviors:
– Individual therapy and workshops available;
– Confidential options for clergy/helping professionals;
– Sequential, multi-dimensional tasks;
– Subsequent treatment options available (e.g., Marital & Couples Therapy, Couples Sexual Therapy).
For the partner and family:
Spouses and partners of individuals struggling with sexual addiction or pre-cursors of sexual addiction experience anger, shame, confusion and isolation. Hypervigilance, anxiety, and stress can follow the discovery of sexual & love addiction. Psychoeducation about the addiction and fine-tuned trauma reduction tools help the partner develop healthy coping strategies and self-care. This approach results in increased self-esteem and a healthy sense of control.
– Individual therapy, workshops or couple’s check-ins and restoration available;
– Trauma and partner sensitive treatment through a research based approach. For more information on the Partner Sensitive approach, please visit www.apsats.org.
